Ledyard Garden Club was organized in September 1964 and federated in 1984.
The Club celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2014.
The Club is a non-profit organization, and membership is open to anyone interested in gardening and related fields. Membership is not limited to Ledyard residents. The annual membership fee is $30. Novices are welcome.

The Club is dedicated to the beautification of roadsides and other sites within Ledyard and Gales Ferry and uses civic plantings to promote greater knowledge of native plants, their beauty, and conservation.
Ledyard Garden Club has lent its expertise to local projects, which include planting, maintaining, and caring for civic gardens in Ledyard and Gales Ferry. These include care and maintenance of the Ledyard Center Gardens, Gales Ferry Memorial Parklet, Gales Ferry Firehouse gardens, Ledyard Senior Center gardens, Nathan Lester House Gardens, and the Bill Library Gardens.
